Behaviour Therapy
Behaviour therapy is a form of talking therapy.
The basis of this therapy is to teach children and young people to manage negative thoughts and behaviours.
The children and parents work together with the consultant on a structured programme of weekly activities, learning strategies and reinforcing positive behaviours. Sessions are usually minimum of 6 weeks, up to 15 weeks.
How does it work?
Therapy would be delivered on a 1:1 basis. Behaviour therapy can help to manage:
- Depression and anxiety
- Eating disorders
- Substance abuse
- Phobias
- Maladaptive behaviours
- Self harming
- Panic disorders
- OCD
- Poor sleep
- PTSD
- Chronic fatigue
